History
Formation
Having grown tired of the strife of CivClassic and CivRealms, a Columbian by the name of ComradeRick stopped playing CivCraft actively for a few months, only coming back to help break the Hallow vault in summer of 2020. He went on hiatus afterward.
In the meantime, after hearing of shadedoom and Kaloa_HG's plans to start a civ server called CivLegacy based on old civcraft. After speaking to some of his former comrades and friends. The founders of the UJSR were ComradeRick (Columbia, TdC), Avo (Nro'meagh), ImperatorMendes (Adina/Mount Augusta), Gordona22 (Nro'meagh), TheYodelingDwarf, and BurntxMatch.
Steadily recruiting others such as Topher3001, as well as members of the civrealms IWW, a constitution was written.
Culture
Boomer Thought
As the UJSR was brought together by the unwavering jadedness of its constituents in regards to the strife of both CivClassic and CivRealms, a core tenet of local culture is the desire to grill and build in peace, away from the stupidity of others. As such while politics do exist internally, the community is more focused on benefiting the collective and an internal focus rather than petty disputes and competition.
Leftism
Leftist memes are a common joke amongst Comrades of the Union, such as Dennis Prager, juche, and more. In fact, the ideology of the Union was a word salad formulated by BurntxMatch as well as Rick, of memey leftist ideologies. The democratic confederalist-like structure of the Union was inspired by the large anarchist and leftist population within.
