Hwillotati (HWL), also known as Hwillota, was a small anarchistic Mery town on Vintage Civ. Formerly in an undisclosed location, the town was composed of former residents of Merthyr from CivRev and the CCCP from CivClassics 2.0. The final population of the town stood at around 8 residents. While residents primarily spoke English amongst themselves, a previously-unused conlang made by AmandaCC supplemented their speech. The name of the town is an example of that conlang, with Hwillotata meaning "In between two bodies of water", referencing the two lakes the town was situated between.

History

Hwillotati's origins come from a small settlement built by Pythius and SimpleBastard on January 5, 2022. Consisting entirely of one building made from dirt, hay, and wood, the settlement was unofficially dubbed the Shitshack Commune by Des23. As Des recruited more Mery to join the settlement, they continued to use the name until the adoption of Hwillota on January 11th, changed to Hwillotati the day after due to it being a slightly more accurate name. Over the course of the following week, the settlement gradually moved further and further away from 0,0, seeking to escape the traffic brought by the original location of Pond Scum until settling down permanently on January 10, 2022.

The town was dissolved by its residents on January 13, 2022 following racism allegedly perpetuated and tolerated by its head admin, SouthernBloc.[1] This alleged racism sparked an incident spam, slurs and a perceived weak response to said slurs and racism by SouthernBloc, which put the final nail in the coffin in the short lived town. However, a few members tentatively decided to stay after rules were made banning hate speech[2].
