Mery Horde is a semi-permanent tribal confederacy located in the +,+ on the CivRevolution server. It is a spiritual successor to the CCCP from CivClassics, with its founders also including those from Carson, Provincia, and Mt. Augusta. Originally founded as the democratic socialist city-state of Merthyr, the country adopted a confederal constitution on December 18, 2021. It aims to be similar to the nation of Nro'meagh, with a number of autonomous tribes all forming one civilization, but so far only one tribe, the Mery, exists.

History

Following the announcement of the end of CivClassics 2.0 on December 8, 2021, citizens of the CCCP looked to continue their legacy and activities on another Civ server.[1]With CivRealms being down at the time, this left the newest Civ server which had been untouched by CCCP members at the time, CivRevolution. After some scouting, the city of Merthyr was founded on December 11, 2021. Keeping in line with their previous form of governance, Merthyr was originally founded as a socialist direct democracy. The city was named after the real-life Merthyr Uprising, which is credited as the first workers' movement in history to use the red flag. The first week of its existence was relatively peaceful, with residents mapping their claims, building a canal, and large-scale farming typical materials for factories.

On December 18th, the city officially adopted the First Law of the Mery Horde as its constitution.[2] Changing the name of the nation to Mery Horde with the city itself retaining the name Merthyr, the law established the autonomous cossack tribe of the Mery, which comprises the current residents of the city. The position of Ataman was also created as an ad-hoc problem solver for conflicts involving the whole nation, but one has yet to be named.
