Lambat (CivMC)

The Republic of Lambat or Lambat (/lamˈbat/; Filipino: Lambát) is a nation-state in the CivMC server. It is located in northern Oriente (Totec), south of the Lyrean Sea bordering Judea to the east and Mery to the west. Lambat is a member state of the Lyrean Council and an honorary member of the Medi Sea Forum. Lambat in CivMC is the direct successor to the eponymous state in post-Infinity War CivClassic 2.0.

History

Inter-server period (December 2021 to May 2022)

Upon the closure of CivClassic 2,0, most of the players in Lambat remained in their Discord server. On January 27th, the National Transitional Council was proclaimed by Kaprediem as Lambat's sole governing authority, suspending the constitution, marking the beginning of Lambat's transition into a future server by consolidating the nation's more active members.

In the first quarter of 2022, Greater Duskwood formally seceded from Lambat. Later in early May, Capeland joined Lambat as a province.

After the announcement of CivMC's launch date, a referendum was held in the Lambat Discord server that asked whether the nation should move to the upcoming server; the measure passed 18 against 1.

First settlement, exodus, and arrival in the +-. (June 2022 to present)

Lambat initially settled in the ++, to the west of Lusitania. A land dispute between Lambat and Ila'Kyavul ultimately led to the former scouting for new land in the less crowded +-. The Lambatans resettled to a meadow east of Pavia on the 4th of June, 2022, establishing a settlement named Pioneer Village. In no less than three days, Lambat's active population has grown to at least five.

Within the span of two weeks, Lambat has become home to 15 active citizens. Several businesses have opened in Pioneer Village, while the Minstry of Public Works, led by AKJanklin, spearheaded the construction of a local railway system. Capeland was renamed Chungia in late July as a callback to its ScratchCiv legacy.

Lambat's climate is temperate, with flat meadows on both the north and south side of the country (at Capeland and Lambat City sectors respectively). In between the plains are a plethora of birch and flower forests, which happen to also be quite hilly. Together, they make up a sort of "mountain range" consisting of Mt. Flor to the east, Mt. Abedul in the central belt, and the Blanco mountain range leading to Mt. Pico de Blanco to the west (said mountain is in Za State territory).

Lambat City

Lambat City, or L-City, is a sector comprising of the entire plains landmass south of the Mt. Flor flower forest. The capital of Lambat is situated here. It was initially settled as Pioneer Village, but later developed into its own district as infrastructure and buildings were built at a rapid pace.

There are three embassies built in Lambat, two of which (Pavian and Lusitan) are marked to be built in Poblacion. The third (Reconstruction Era) is built in the northern part of Pioneer Village.

Pioneer Village

The first settlements of Lambat were build here, including the Pioneer Torch, the L-City Warehouse, mines, farms, and St. Amogus Chapel. Roads are generally made of simple materials, such as various stones and grass paths. However, Queen Banyough Avenue (QBA) and other major roads that run through the area are deepslate-paved per normal convention.

Pioneer District is mainly a cosmopolitan residential area; newly-inducted citizens are typically required to build their first house in this area of L-City. Due to its high population density, shops and services are commonly found - though these are typically small businesses run by individuals.

The eastern region of Pioneer is mainly an agricultural zone; Wheat is the main staple grown, though other crops such as carrots and oak trees are routinely harvested.

The easternmost point of QBA leads to a fork - the left road exiting Lambat to Judea (which in turn contiguously leads to Potistan) and the right road exits via bridge to Varathia. The land road passes through a large wall funded by Judean authorities, which marks the southern land border between Lambat City and the Judean woods.

Poblacion

West of Pioneer District is the urban heart of L-City, Poblacion. Governmental-purpose buildings, embassies (with the exception of ReEra's), large-scale businesses, and various public amenities are located here. Buildings in this area tend to be larger-scale, taller and made of more advanced material, due to both looser building restrictions and greater government spending in the area. However, because of these factors (as well as existing mandates requiring homes be built in Pioneer Village), little if any residential buildings are present.

The northern area of Poblacion houses buildings that make up the cultural quarter of Lambat City. This includes the Lambat International Museum: a flag collection and as of August 11, 2022, the only museum present in the Lyrean region.

Following the passing of Minecraft Youtuber Technoblade, the north-south running boulevard in western Poblacion was renamed to Technoblade Blvd via a proclimation made July 1st by president Kaprediem.

Northend

Northend is located north of Pioneer Village, separated by a standard 5-block deepslate road. Though much of the area is undeveloped, according to president Kaprediem and public works minister AKJanklin, the area will generally have larger-scale modern styled buildings.

Katipan

Katipan district is a thin strip of land encompassing the northernmost area of Lambat City. It borders Northend to the south, Mt. Abedul to the west, and Mt Flor to the north.

Katipan's infrastructure is mostly funded and built by AK. Aside from the rail station, the buildings present are privately owned and form a sizeable brewing industry.

Monte Flor

Mt. Flor is a tall flower forest hill located north of L-City bordering Katipan. It is the main separator dividing L-City from Capeland.

Capeland

Originating from the Classics country of the same name, Capeland in CivMC is a sector of Lambat overseen by the Governor of Capeland. As of June 22, 2022, the Governor of Capeland is Orhint.

The area is most commonly visited for its nether portal, which is available to Lambat and those with permission from Lambatan authorities. Though nothing is currently built in the region, a British Maritime theme inspired by Louche Lane and Diagon Alley is planned.

Monte Abedul

Mt. Abedul is a birch forest hill located north-by-northeast of L-City. It was once Lambat's main source of birch wood, though now efforts are being made to preserve the natural birch trees present since CivMC SOTW.

Monte Pico de Blanco

Lambat once held territory past a canyon, on said territory stands the bald, snowy peak of Mt. Pico de Blanco (shortened to Blanco by most, notably the people of djani'hweh). The first person to summit Blanco is Smal.

Lambat does not own the mountain itself, but still holds the territory behind the canyon.

Valle Occidental

In between Mt. Abedul and Mt. Pico de Blanco lies the Valle Occidental, or Western Valley. It comprises of plains situated between rugged mountains to the west and birch forests to the east.

Newfriendland

A secret base and "vault" built by an unknown newfriend was built on the northeastern area of the Valle Occidental. Though snitches have been set up to try and identify the player(s) living in the area, no activity has been detected since. To name the general area, AK coined the term "Newfriendland" as a play on words between Newfriend and "Newfoundland (and Labrador)," which is a province in Canada.

Bulaclacan

The Northeasternmost area of Lambat is mosty uninhabited flower forest, with a small patch of plains at it's southwestern tip. This area is known as Bulaclacan.

Demographics

Lambat's population comprises mostly of returning citizens from Classics. However, it is worth noting a portion of Lambat is comprised of immigrants from other countries, Mount Augusta for example.

Government

Lambat currently operates as a civilian dictatorship with appointed government officials. Despite this designation, citizens still participate in the government through consensus and direct participation. This transitional form of government is expected to be succeeded by a hybrid democracy. The present form of government is derived from the Provisional Constitution of 2022.The planned Lambat government will have a President with an unlimited term. The President will serve as both head of state and government, with a stronger focus on foreign policy and diplomacy. Kaprediem is the inaugural holder for this position.

Meanwhile, the new position of Prime Minister is elected by citizens of Lambat every two months, and may run up to three consecutive terms. The Prime Minister will oversee domestic affairs such as the national economy and industry.

The State Council shall consist of the Prime Minister and three ministers: the Minister of Defense, Minister of Justice, and Minister of Public Works.

The nation's capital city shall also have an elected Mayor, similar to Lambat City in CivClassic 2.0. The City Mayor shall be part of the State Council.

Merging the responsibilities of the Cabinet and the National Assembly, the State Council approves and reviews legislation submitted by citizens.

The Supreme Court will retain its previous structure, now named the Judicial Council.
