Pre-Launch

As of May 6, 2022, Myra was created, after much talk and anticipation weeks prior from it's founder. On May 10th, the first draft of the nation's Constitution was created, which is currently undergoing reviews. There's also a national discord, however, this is not open to the public, and the only way to obtain an invite is by direct messaging the nation's founder through discord.

Etymology

The name Myra, was chosen after being suggested to the nation's founder, and used as a placeholder until it caught on and was adopted as the official name of the nation. The name of the nation's capital city Cyrus was chosen due to the name meaning sun in Persia, and after Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Achaemenid Empire. A notable quote from the Wikipedia page for Cyrus the Great reads, "the empire created by Cyrus was the largest the world had yet seen"[1].

Government and Politics

The government consists of a bureaucratic council, where power divulges and splits of, the further down each position is on the chain of command[2]. The Head of the Council, is dubbed the Head of State. Alongside the Head of State, there's 5 Council Members. 5 Council Members will be chosen to serve as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Military, Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Infrastructure, and the Minister of Justice. The Head of State assumes the right to fulfill any and all Ministers positions, should there be a demonstrated need to do so. Ministers have the authority to act as stand-ins for any other Minister, in the case of the Head of State and the Minister of which is supposed to serve, are both unable to do so.

Culture

Similar to the practice of Sabaism popularized by South Arbians (Sabaeans), Myrians center their worship around spiritual entities. Through the practice of astrotheology[3], our culture revolves around the worship of the cosmos, viewing the sun and moon as deities, of whom watch over all who inhabit the Earth, keeping it in balance. As the sun is viewed as a symbol of good luck, fortune and spirituality, many rituals and sacrifices are made in attempts to appease the sun deity, and quell the moon deity, which is a symbol of death, illness, and misfortune. As the sun rises, good fortune is brought along with warmth and light. The sun is viewed as a physical embodiment of the deity it represents, and when it sets, the deity’s protection over us resides as well. As the moon rises, the Earth grows cold, dark and uninhabitable. The moon is seen as the physical embodiment of death, sickness, and mortal ailments. It serves as a yin and yang, the interconnected duality of night and day, as one can not be observed without the existence of the other.
