On 23 December 2023, a brew-based bomb was deliberately detonated on CivMC during a gathering for an Elysian Pact Christmas card, leaving upward twenty-four dead and six others injured.[1][2]

Twenty-four people died and at least six others were injured in the initial blast. Many of those injured were in a state of shock, with the blast causing damage to a large portion of the room and damaging reinforcements. Seven others would later be killed in the ensuing investigations and inventory-checks by Elysian Pact agents.

Investigation
The Pavian Coastguard immediately investigated the incident as a terrorist attack. The Archduke of Pavia, Gobblin IV described the event as "a savage attack"[3] with initial reports leaning towards a bomb being detonated under the Christmas bandstand which was set up for Elysian Pact Christmas photos. Complexiii of Estalia claimed responsibility for the attack shortly after the incident, utilising a brew designed to spawn a charged creeper.

Many world leaders offered condolences to Pavia and the victims of the attack, with some of these world leaders & citizens being victims themselves.
The Archduke of Pavia, Gobblin IV immediately made a statement to the press to calm the public.[3] He would go on to state "In the last 2 hours, during what should have been a great celebration of unity and friendship as Elysian Pact members and the wider Pavian community came together in our nation's capital, a savage attack occurred that results in the death and injury of many."

Items and belongings are being collected, organised and sent to the deceased next of kin, unfortunately I must report that in the minutes following the explosion, looters and vagabonds stole some of the items, some of which were Christmas gifts given to the victims moments before. I have declared that a memorial be erected so that we may never forget what happened this day, and that the 23rd of December is declared a National Day of Mourning.
