Pripyat was founded in early 2023 by its first mayor, Rendezook99. Though officially an autonomous region of [[Mount Augusta (CivMC)|Mount Augusta,]] Pripyat strictly maintains its own political neutrality and is culturally and architecturally distinct from the rest of Mount Augusta. The city center of Pripyat is comprised of narrow streets and a network of canals, as well as a rail station and various parks.
Pripyat is nicknamed "The Electric City" due to the ubiquitous lightning rods present on the city's rooftops, which sometimes cause near-constant lightning strikes during storms.
