It was conceived in June 2017 as a cooperation between Hjaltland and Impasse to create a quick and convenient connection between Hjaltland, Impasse, and the Commonwealth which were the most influential cities on the [[Geographical Regions|Western Hemicircle]] at the time and also conveniently aligned. Most of the track north of Westminster has been built by workers from TdC, the southern diagonal was built by Hjaltland.

The HITS, short for Hjaltland-Impasse Transportation Service, is a public international rail line going north to south through the -,- and -,+.
It connects many major cities in the western hemisphere:
- Impasse
- Lusitania
- Atlantis
- El Norte (Mt. Augusta's former location, now TdC)
- El Capitolio (TdC)
- Mt. Augusta
- Westminster (Commonwealth)
- Airhaven
- Hjaltland
