The Map
The Map is a circle 15km in radius, in which ores are distributed into at most 750-block-wide, low-density deposits.
There is now a project underway aiming to create a full map of the overworld.

The Edge
The edge of the Map is secured against passage by World Border. You will not be able to go any further than 15 km from the center of the Map.
The Ores
The ores are rare on this map, 1/6th of vanilla minecraft, in addtion to thoes ores there are Iron veins in Ice mountains and coal and diamond veins of varying size and density scattered throught the map at the y levels that they normall appear in.
Diamond veins have the defnining characteristic of usually being a large grouping of lone ores, as in if you find a single diamond ore on it's own it's probably a vein and there are more very close.
