Sky City

Sky City is a very large floating city located at (-8100, -4450). It was founded by a nice guy named Blakeoren. It is built over vanilla chunks and is surrounded by many major cities. Aristopolis, Immelopolis, and Haven are within about 1500 blocks in the over world, it is only a short walk in the nether to each of these cities. Becuse it lies in the at the heart of the major -,- cities, it could, potentially, be the trade hub of the sector. The city has claimed both snow biomes and a desert biome to the south as well as the plains and extreme hills biomes that is covers. Visit the subreddit at http://www.reddit.com/r/civskycity

History

Blake founded a number of Sky Cities before creating this particular utopia but ended up falling to his death without having slept in a bed and thus was unable to continue their construction. He finally found a nice spot to create the city, a quiet location near the once great Tokiestan and, at the time, an abandoned Aristopolis. After some time a guy named Yerou arrived at the city and quickly became second in command. Only a few days after Yerou’s arrival a dude named Konartist joined the group and the three are still ruling Sky City today as a council of city elders. Since then, the city leadership has expanded and in addition to the three founders is led by Ryster13 and the infamous Knightlight.

Present

The city has over 35 citizens, only 5 of which, unfortunately, actually play on a regular basis. In fact Yerou kindly allowed 10 people to take a temporary residence in his home but many of those players are too afraid to play without him. The folks at Sky tend to be as helpful and as kind as possible, with the exception of Konartist who is appropriately mean to people. Sky has what some would consider to be a good rapport with most of its neighbors and is most likely unheard of in other regions as it gets no visitors. There is currently a project underway to create a large floating circle to house various shops and premium housing plots. This is a bit of a change from the rest of the city as all of the other circles are much smaller with free plots.

Structure and Style

Unlike Rothbard, Sky City is awesome. Also unlike Rothbard, it is a group of connected floating platforms rather than a group of connected towers. Sky has many circles, too many for me to count right now, but a lot none the less. To make navigating the city easier, in addition to street names, each circle has a pillar in the center with a distinct block at the top of each one. The circles are named after these blocks. For example; Thecriminalmind once made a circle and placed an iron block above the pillar on this circle, from then on it was known as Iron Circle.

Sights and Attractions

The Sky City keep, which includes public utilities and a vault; the large platform that makes up Sky City Central, which includes many new plots for shops and houses; and a floating freakin' city.
