City of Solis

Solis was the first city and capital of the S.P.Q.R. in 2.0. It is in The Metropolis region in the far north of the -,- quadrant. The city's location is on the forest plains at the entry into The Metropolis.

The city rose to host a moderate-large citizenry governed by a vibrant political system at its peek. After it peaked in July, Solis declined until is split in October. The separatists leaving and heading east to found Valex Corp. and the Romans moving the capital to the west to found Roma.

Government

Solis was governed by a Republic based on the Roman model.

The city was led by Executive Magistrates, in order from highest to lowest: 2 Consuls, Praetors, Quaestors. With other administrators called Censors and Aediles. Together, the Magistrates made up the Senate, the chief legislative body.

Additionally, there existed the People's Assembly, a popular assembly where all citizens were represented according to voluntary social groups; where each group had a vote weighted to its membership count, making it a representative legislature.

Elections were held monthly.

District and Neighborhoods

Old Town - The Old Town was the main part of the city built around an NPC village on the west bank of the river. The district contained most residences, the factory facilities, the town-hall, rail station, shops, and farms.

The Forum - The Forum was the grand Roman district planned for the city. Incomplete, the district contains 2 large builds, the Temple of Saturn and the Villa Publica, surrounded by a large colonnade and monument park. This district was the main entrance to the city, with the southern gate entering through a Triumphal Arch built in the Roman fashion.

Villa Distric - The Villa District was a partially developed planned neighborhood for upper-class housing. This district also contains the foundation for the planned grand amphitheater.

Guild District - The Guild District was the planned location for the Guild Halls of the great Houses of the People's Assembly. No Guild Houses were ever built, but the streets laid out around the plots remain.

Northern District - The Northern district remains completely undeveloped. It was planned to contain a city-block grid layout, in the same fashion as a modern city.
