However, the war would eventually end as on April 6-8 of 2018, a large-scale operation was created to attack the Lexington Vault. The [[Fall of Lexington]] took over two days and eventually the vault was captured using new innovations to break the near-impenetrable vault. Most Lexington fighters were captured or pearled, and all pearled victims of Lexington were freed.

Following the war, two major alliances emerged from those who were more ambivalent towards Lexington and those who adamantly opposed it. Much of the southwestern powers at the time, including the resurgence of [[Yoahtl]], formed the [[SATO]] alliance who were more focused on economic security and growth. On the other side, with newer powers to the Northwest like the [[Holy Jaded Empire]] and [[Columbia]], formed the rather similar named [[NATO]] alliance. The two powers engaged in a cold war of sorts with neither directly attacking the other until the Infinity War; preferring to take most conflicts in a buffer state between Commonwealth and the Holy Jaded Empire, in a new iteration of [[Mount Augusta]].<syntaxhighlight>
This was generally supposed to be about the generally peaceful time between FRIENDS and SATO, and how conflict developed during that time.
