It is most recently located on the [[CivMC]] server in the -,- quadrant on the [[Northlandia]] continent and runs the the east coast up to the north pole. It has previously existed on many other Civ servers, notably in the +,+ quadrant of [[CivClassic]] on land West of [[Odresh]] under the protectorate of [[Yoahtl]], in the north mountains ranges of [[CivReign]] as well as on renditions of [[CivRev]].

Winterbourne's primary duty is to protect and uphold the will of THE TREE, it encompasses a world view of peace and harmony through its demonstrated neutrality and diplomacy. It holds historical ties with Yoahtl, Icenia and Jomsviking and welcomes all across her lands to enjoy the vast wilderness and untouched lands.

Citizenship of Winterbourne is only granted by honorary royal decree to those who show respect and kindness to Royal House of Winterbourne.

All citizens of [[Yoahtl]] are granted honorary citizenship of Winterbourne automatically as long as the Yoahtl "House of Winterbourne Act" is active.

Winterbourne adopts [[Yoahtl]] law by voluntary consent and delegates the tasks of legislation, crime and national security to the [[Yoahtl]] government under the "Winterbourne Peace Declaration" and the "The House of Winterbourne Act". Specifically "The House of Winterbourne Act" obligates and allows [[Yoahtl]] to legally legislate, perform justice and protect The Royal House of Winterbourne. All subjects of the crown of Winterbourne are expected to abide by the laws of [[Yoahtl]] as if it were a citizen, though this does not automatically assume citizenship of [[Yoahtl]].

While [[Yoahtl]] law and order is adopted, the reigning monarch of Winterbourne holds a royal prerogative of creating and enacting law, meting out punishment and declaring war by order and cannot be held accountable to its laws outside of Yoahtl borders. It should be noted however this royal prerogative has historically very rarely been exercised.

THE TREE is a spruce tree that has graced many Civ servers, it is sacred to the Royal House of Winterbourne which it protects and follows. Rituals and sacrifices to THE TREE are made throughout the calendar year for the good fortune of the world. THE TREE does not make alliances, it treats all equally and metes out good and bad fortune independent of politics.

Rituals may appear odd and uncanny, and appear in very vague ways, however for many nations from all backgrounds that have taken part in these rituals have been bid good fortune with THE TREE.
