When to use

Place this template on an article when you have identified that its content is highly outdated. Please also explain on the article's talk page why you are adding this tag, identifying specific issues that are actionable.

When to remove

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. You may remove this template whenever any one of the following is true:

  1. There is consensus on the talkpage that the issue has been resolved.
  2. It is not clear what the obsolescence issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given.
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

: Note that this template can remain permanently on articles that do not relate to CivClassic (i.e. from older iterations).

How to use

Place {{Obsolete warning|date=April 2024}} at the top of the disputed article, then explain your reasons on the article's talk page. To specify the section of the talk page, use {{POV|talk=talk page section name|date=April 2024}}.

This template will categorize tagged articles in Category:Obsolescence disputes or a dated subcategory thereof.

This template should only be used in the main (article) namespace. Do not place this template on talk pages, user pages, or other pages.

  • Please do not subst: this template.

Alternatives

To mark only a section as disputed, rather than a whole article, set |what=section.
