Following increased regional tensions in mid-August of 2018, the citizens of Fort Liberty realized that war may be inevitable and that the province would be incapable of defending itself. To remedy this, three guard towers were constructed along with the Entrana Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) to help identify threats to the province and the greater republic. Citizens also worked towards upgrading their personal weapons and armor. Luckily, tensions eased and the threat of invasion was decreased, leaving Fort Liberty much safer and better equipped to deal with conflict in the future should it ever arrive at its shores.

Following a stable period from mid to late-August of 2018, marked by increased infrastructure development and the growth of domestic industry, the province and the greater republic entered a period of instability and economic problems. In early September, a group of raiders attacked the Entranan State Bunker, where all of the nation's valuables were stored. This was a major blow to the country as these resources were essential to defense and the build-up of the nation's growing industrial base. Upon hearing that the capital was under attack, neighboring countries sent troops to intervene, but it was too late. Although Freelands had a sizable amount of stored goods, these materials were obsolete due to their lack of enchantments and the fact that they were made of iron.
