On 4 January 2019, Baes20 (aka Arctikz_), a citizen of the Holy Jaded Empire, entered Mt. Augusta alongside two accounts, 'LeaveMeTallone' and 'Rhiannasbutt'. These three proceeded to break a few laws in MtA and started a small fight with citizens of Mir. In order to escape the Mirians, they ran to bunkers built on property owned by the Holy Jaded Empire. The two players alongside Baes20 were later revealed to be the banned players [[bewsiej]] and [[dovahkiin]], using VPNs to bypass their bans.<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnDDBSaeV-I</ref>
On 6 January 2019, in response to the actions taken by Baes20, the Mirian [[Gregy165]] went to one of the Holy Jaded Empire's bunkers near Mt. Augusta and attempted to break in. He was engaged and made to retreat by the fighter [[thomasih]],<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wiB3bQCjoY</ref> who was much later discovered to be
Despite efforts to de-escalate, NATO troops were deployed to destroy the Mir bunker in Mt. Augusta on 29 January 2019. This operation was completed overnight.<ref>https://imgur.com/a/WdhvVZ7</ref> In response, Mir considered all who helped disable their bunker to be pearl-on-sight map-wide.

Some time after the fall of Pinkerton to Mirian forces near the start of the war, it was recaptured by the Holy Jaded Empire, who

On 27 June 2020, Coalition forces broke into the Hallow vault, following a massive siege, with ~60 attackers, lasting over 24 hours. The pearl of FlashMigma was freed, and the pearls of attackers ComradeRick and hockey328 were lost in the process. Kicky, a NATO fighter, was pearled by Mir. Hallow remains the largest vault to be successfully attacked in the history of the genre.

On 18 July 2020, Coalition forces broke the Holy Jaded Empire's vault, Best Western, following another massive 24 hour siege. During the fight, various pearls that had been secured throughout the war were released, including those belonging to Lodish, bgbba, ComradeRick, among others. Several nations involved in the war would die out, particularly on the NATO side of the conflict due to infrastructure destruction and pearling of citizens, but also on the Coalition side due to war exhaustion and other factors. Hallow's citizens would completely move to Realms, HJE's would do the same, and Polska would be utterly destroyed as a functioning city and state. Laconia, although several players still exist on the server, would go inactive too. Other notable nations that would cease to exist in an active capacity during the war would be Coventhia, who would drastically reduce the size of their claims and give their vault and most of their land to neutral nation Grand Imperium. New Sovia, although split by the time of the UDF/Entente's entry into the war officially, would also cease to function as a true state. Bloom, involved in the war on the side of the UDF until its departure from the alliance, would also go to Realms and go inactive. The historic Mount Augusta followed the pattern and ended up migrating to Realms as well.
Columbia took over stewardship of Hallow and Polska cities, and the Jaded Confederation was formed to prevent grief in HJE's cities (that no newfriends could feasibly benefit from) after an incident
There is some evidence that server population is recovering though in the immediate aftermath of the conflict. Imperial Truidence, Icenia, and SPQR have all shown signs of a boost in activity and it remains to be seen if this will continue into the future.
