The Risk Republic is a relatively new semi-authoritarian republic. Though there are mostly no restrictions on citizen actions aside from using common sense, the Republic is officially headed by a Lord Protector, who may step in to resolve conflict if deemed necessary.

Despite its young age, the Risk Republic is very organized. Official government and military buildings as well as outposts have been set up throughout its territory in order to ensure its control over its lands.

Military

The Risk Republic's military is divided into three main 'branches'; the Rangers, the Militia, and the Army.

Rangers

The Rangers were the first military force to be founded. Ranger duties include surveillance of the land, riot control, light combat, and reconnaissance. Their office is situated within the Risk Republic's main Capitol building.

Militia

The Risk Militia is a paramilitary force that currently consists of all citizens not currently in an official branch. In short, it is a service-by-requirement branch. Service time is indefinite and a citizen may only exit the Militia if they secure a proper job in either another field, such as manufacturing or mining, or join another branch, such as the Army or Ranger Corps.

Army

The Army is the only branch of the Risk military to be still in-development. Once complete, the Army will serve as the main fighting force of the Risk Republic, whether the fight be on home territory or far overseas.

Possible future branches

The Risk Republic is new, and thus is still growing. As it grows, new branches may come into existence. The most likely of these is a Navy or Marine Corps for naval and coastal patrol and combat.

Government

The Risk Republic's official government consists of four branches; The House of the Lord Protector, The Presidential Seat, The Senate, and the Mayors' Council.

The House of the Lord Protector

The House of the Lord Protector is a one-man branch consisting solely of the Lord Protector himself. The LP will exercise dictatorial rule, but only when necessary. It is the LP's duty to remain neutral when an issue does not concern them, as the Presidential Seat and the Senate will take care of these issues. They are the highest ranking official and cannot be deposed unless the standing LP abdicates the position to a named individual. The current LP is Maxpowerboy, who often goes by their nickname "Kebb".

The Presidential Seat

The Presidential Seat is the second highest position of power within the RR. Like the HLP, the Presidential Seat is a one-man branch consisting of a president who is elected democratically each month by the Senate. The Presidential Seat's powers mirror that of the President of the United States, except the Presidential Seat's decisions can be overruled by the Lord Protector if necessary. There has been no Elected President yet.

The Senate

The Senate is a representative government organization whose three members are elected by the citizens of the Republic. The Senate can propose bills and laws (which need a 2/3 vote to pass) and also hold the power to request impeachment and elect the holder of the Presidential Seat. The Current and only Senator is Injuid.

Mayors' Council

The Mayors' Council functions similarly to the Senate, except it is run by mayors, who in turn control a town's finances, infrastructure, trade, and, to a lesser degree, defense. Mayors are elected by the citizens of a town. The Mayors' Council's primary purpose is to influence the Senate by shedding light on issues within the citizenry. There is no Current Mayor.
