Ashelor's secession from Adina
On 24th February 2020, ImperatorMendes approached the government of Ashelor with a proposition to build a vault within Ashelor's red desert. Orinnari and Aleh immediately had immediate concerns, mostly to do with its proximity andto the implications that would have on the town of Ashelor, and the implications that would have but also what it would mean in terms of borders, since it would meanbe a dramatic reduction in Ashelor's then already small land claims. After some research into Adina's laws and constitution to figure out the specifics of how a land transfer would occur, he found that there wasn't anything specific pertaining to land jurisdiction with the sole exception of the "Ashelor Integration Act" which stated that Ashelor would retain its borders, thus implying that those borders meant something. This was backed up by the fact that Adina was requesting Ashelor for the land rather than acquisitioning it, thus implying that Ashelor could in fact refuse.

On 25th February 2020, Ashelor passed "Land Negotiations with Adina" which empowered the Governor - an newly formed governmental role created under the requirements of Adinan statehood - the power to negotiate the desired area of red desert with Adina, thus negotiations began. At first there were discussions of a land exchange, but Ashelor quickly stated that a land exchange should be mutually beneficial, that it shouldn't be land area for land area but rather useful land for useful land, but that caused that line of negotiation to end pretty quickly. Adina then bragged about having sold Phylon, an area they had recently been gifted, to Odresh (yikes) for 192 diamonds. This inspired Ashelor to suggest a land purchase, but while Adina understood, they felt it wasn't within their budget.<blockquote>"yeah i totally get why you guys do want to be compensated, we just may have to move location if it is too pricey"

- matanic, President of Adina</blockquote>Ashelor came up with the price of 64 emerald blocks, but after some discussions of a zero-interest payment plan, Incentives offered to pay bill in full himself, so it seemed like construction would start in a matter of days.

On 14th March 2020, which was only two days after thea newnewly elected Adinan government was elected (thonking), the mood suddenly changed when: matanic sent Ashelor a rather scathing message which stated in no uncertain terms that the government of Adina was disappointed with the request for compensation; that they understood that Ashelor (supposedly) didn't feel Adinan; that other states do feel Adinan and thus would give up their land if it were them; that Ashelor should start acting like a state; that Ashelor doesn't deserve to be a state; that if Ashelor citizens wished to exercise their Adinan rights (such as running for election) then they should act like Adinans; that Adina will be "clarifying" its laws and constitution to give powers to the federal government to be able to take land from states without asking.

AsThis youwas cantaken imaginepoorly thisby wasn't taken well,Ashelor but civil discussions began nonetheless about how to transition Ashelor into a different type of territory within Adina that granted more autonomy. However they were soon made privy to the fact that Adina was, as part of their clarifications, be updating its constitution soto thatstrip autonomous territories wouldof no longer gettheir voting rights on the federal laws they'd still have to followlaw. This was seen by Ashelor as a blatant attempt to coerce them into either handing over thetheir land as a good little state would, or to acceptaccepting a form of self-imposed and federally enforced isolation from Adina, thus giving credence to the idea that Ashelor wasn't really Adinan. It was also not lost on Ashelor that the federal government could, in theory, pass federal legislation requiring Ashelor to relinquish theits land anyway, so in an abundance of caution, Ashelor pursued independence, becoming independent on 19th March 2020.

Bloomification of Ashelor
A little over a month later on the 11th October 2020, Orinnari convinced many of the Bloomeans to migrate to Ashelor, spawning a large set of law and treaty changes including secession from Yoahtl, though not for any hostile purposes but simply as a means of self-determination as the circumstances had changed from the accession. Indeed within a week, Ashelor had gone from one active citizen to sixteen. Among the many changes to Ashelor was the abolition of the Royal Prerogative (watch Orinnari's execution), which put Ashelor's laws into disarray, requiring many proposals through the Citizens' Assembly to piece Ashelor's laws back together in a form that the Bloomeans consented to. The day after (12th October 2020) Slushhi was elected as Prime Minister, and soon after came the beginnings of the trenched city now known as Denver, the new capitol of Ashelor, the idea being that the city would offer reasonable security to all citizens who resided within it, thus avoiding some of the issues that open planned cities often fall prey to.

Founding the Admiralty of Wesbury
On the 10th January 2021, Orinnari sought a new project. Ashelor was firmly established but was quickly turningfading inactiveinto againinactivity. Ashelor had the disadvantage of being remote so travellingthat travel to and from other nations took aan longinordinate amount of time. Nor did Ashelor have any neighbours or, allies, or foes. Once people had built their houses there wasn't much left to do. Slushhi became the last bastion of activity, so once he decided to take a break, the last few who logged in here and there went dormant too. This issue was compounded by the increasing popularity of Icenia with its promisespromise of juicy drama and government positions, but also the launching of Devoted Hell. Either way, Orinnari felt it would be inappropriate to start making changes to Ashelor without the consent of the citizens and so began considering a small project nearby to other nations. He noticed the sickle shaped area named Brodre on the map, where upon visiting discovered was abandoned to the point where the reinforcements were so decayed as to break on the second hit. On the 26th January 2021, Orinnari officially published the preliminary borders of the newly found nation: the Admiralty of Wesbury.

Treaty troubles with Mount September
During informal discussions of whether Wesbury should join the Augustan Federation, Orinnari noticed certain gaps in policy, notably extradition, which was important to Orinnari given Wesbury's extremely small claims, being only ~300 square metres in size. Not wanting to force an institution to change its charter however, Orinnari figured the best course of action would be standalone treaties with surrounding nations. The Commonwealth, known for their lax extradition policy, agreed to an arrangement with Wesbury, however Orinnari was primarily focused on Mount September since it was the spiritual successor to Mount Augusta, as well as being the largest and closest population centre; that if Wesbury's were to be raided, the raider would most likely either be from Mount September or otherwise need to be extradited from Mount September, thus negotiations began on 16th March 2021. Negotiations deteriorated very quickly however when AllenY, an esteemed Septembrian, said without official position that the proposed treaty was fundamentally and irreconcilably incompatible with Mount September's constitution. Just over two weeks later on 4th April 2021, Orinnari tried a different tact, to take Mount September's internal extradition process as a given, but to construct a holding cell on an island that Mount September would claim, allowing Wesbury to securely store pearls while it begins to fix any damage caused by the prisoner. However, the requested exemptions to derelictions laws that were okay'd by AllenY were subsequently denied by RedDevel, Mount September's newly appointed diplomat, stating that Mount September has no interest in a mutually beneficial agreement and that Wesbury should be thankful that Mount September is entertaining claiming the island to begin with. Negotiations haven't continued since.

Returning to Southshire, really really really this time!
On 7th June 2021, Orinnari glanced at Southshire's Discord server, noticing a lot of recent activity, most notably RoboRik's proposed redesigns of the downtown factory building. He rushed down to Southshire to see if it had been built, or whether anything else had been built since the last time he had been visited and that's when he found himself in a conversation with cinzar who then invited Orinnari to build a house, but was later given permission by StrPlatinum to claim most of Oakhurst's old territory as private property. Cinzar insisted however that the Nymph Embassy ought to remain. However, Orinnari successfully negotiated the deed to the land in return for manually relocating the embassy and its items to the opposite side of the canal, effectively reclaiming all of Oakhurst's former territory as private property. StrPlatinum then spontaneously granted Oakhurst autonomy, returning it to its original form back in 2017.

Relinquishing Ashelor
Orinnari had been the Lord Protector of Ashelor since 30th December 2020 when the Royal Prerogative was re-instated with a few minor changes as the Lord's Prerogative, hinting at a Cromwell-esque republic which was totally not a Monarchy. But Ashelor was growing increasingly inactive. On 3rd February 2021, Orinnari suspended the election cycle due to lack of interest. Later, on 17th May 2021, Orinnari suspended the need for citizens to register to vote and the need for proposals to be seconded. Ashelor became so inactive that Icenia effectively occupied and annexed Old Bloom, however this was instigated by Truckman, a Bloomean and Ashelor citizen, so the only issue was the Icenia didn't consult with or inform Ashelor's government. Wanting to move onto other projects, Orinnari passed on the position of Lord Protector to 7misun on 5th July 2021.
