Laconia: Difference between revisions

Laconia can trace their roots to a group on [[Devoted]] 2.0, the Revenants. Born out of a shared hatred of the [[Pirates]], it was the fusion of several early-map groups, led by Vapin, Tofee_Dodger, FRESH_Candy, and BuckyHD, with [[ashnwill]] joining later. They were early allies of [[Agora]], who arewere later known on modern CivClassic 2.0 as Hjaltland (sort of). They formed the Conglomerate which fought the Pirates and [[Ascalon]] (led by Vicccyy and SirCrowley respectively).

Bucky and Fresh began thinking of new names for the group, one of which mentioned was Laconia. This first version of the Laconian state on Devoted 2.0 was essentially ashnwill using the name, building a vault with Tofee_Dodger, [[Malen]], and [[Brocktree]], and attempting to make a preemptive power-play against Agora by invading the [[Semper Union]]. This was foiled by the betrayal of Malen and Brocktree, resulting in his permapearling and his excommunication by the Revenants.

The people who made up the Revenants of old Devoted joined with Yoahtl. They began construction of athe fortress town on the mesa island north of theYoahtl's oldthen-capital Yoahtlan capitolcity, Axochitlan, to act as its military base. It later got the memeunofficial name Mt. Doom, with its official name becoming Mt. Vesuvius., though it was rarely referred to as the latter.

DueThe toLaconians thediscussed soon to be Laconia members discussinga land dealsdeal with Hjaltland for a portion of the nearby jungle without Yoahtlconsulting the leadership whichof Yoahtl, angeredangering [[St_Leibowitz]], who wished to haveblamed Tofee_Dodger removedand duedemanded tohis being the one dealing with the land dealexpulsion. As a result of this demand, FreshFRESH_candy, BuckyBuckyHD, and TofeeTofee_Dodger left Yoahtl to become their own private group, notably a Companycorporation called Quantum Company, as they had planned to do on [[CivCraft 2.0 when being in Yoahtl]].

This split resulted in some anger towards the group, notably from WackyAki, and others once people began to join the group. GDan[[GDAN12]], owner of Danville, as well as LordEmberScar wished to[[LordEmberscar]], joinjoined the group., This resultedresulting in BuckyDanville, enactinga hisportion planof forPumpkintown, Laconiaand onceMt. againDoom asbecoming itproperty couldof noQuantum longerCompany. beThis aencouraged companyBucky withto otherenact regionshis joining.plans Asfor a result,Laconian Danville,nation-state Mt.once Doomagain, andincorporating athe portionproperties of PumpkintownQuantum becameCompany propertyas of Laconia, to the resentment of many Yoahtlansprovinces.
