Descript

This is a central page for all Civcraft historians, subreddit archeologists and wise old players with stories to tell - a place to deposit all noteworthy historical information gathered, collect it in one place and organize it in chronological order. Here we will continue the age old tradition of building with more than just blocks; together we will build a timeline of the history of civkind: a great asset to us all today, and a great gift for those who come tomorrow.

Information will be broken down by server, then by era, then by events, conflicts and important dates, then by individual actions taken those dates pertaining to those events. This can include events on the local, national, international or global scale. The less historically relevent a piece of information is, the more interesting it must be to justify a place in the timeline. A mundane action may have importance when part of a larger event, and a smaller, more isolated action may carry such narrative weight that it adds to the story. You must judge this for yourself when researching.

Begin with the date for each piece of information. Line breaks between all recorded dates are preferable. If a date is unknown, try to place it in the correct spot in the timeline; its position may be adjusted based on correspondence with surrounding dated information. Include sources wherever possible.

Research

Reddit is chock full of historical information, but archeologists are needed to slog through the sand and muck of old comment threads to recover the preserved fragments of the past that litter them.

/r/Civcraft is a good place to start. Search keywords in order to find posts on specific events, people or places. You will often pick up new keywords from following a narrative thread through comments. Search new words until you can piece together a full picture of a situation. You may need to find multiple perspectives.

Here is a list of other resources that can be combed for information to the organized into the timeline. More may be added as they are found (and as I figure out how to link them):
