Fourth Reich
The Fourth Reich was a loose collection of bernds predating Prussia. it was formed 11/07/2012 when the Swede Skillzor123 started a thread on Krautchan's /int/ board asking bernds to join him on a crusade against Reddit. Communicating through an unprotected tinychat channel it was decided that the bernds shall meet up on the position of SoulFunkBrotha, which was at x:100, z:6800. It should be noted that Skillzor, who was new to Minecraft himself, had been told of this server by an anonymous Paraguayan bernd.
The first settlement called Berlin, now the abandoned Civitivecchia, started in a small dug out stone room beside a coast with forest and light hills surrounding it on three sides. It was by no means fertile land as the ground beneath it lacked veins of any kind and the only crops to be grown were sugarcane and wheat. Due to the lack of iron for buckets at the beginning, the early settlers were forced to extend rows of tilled dirt two blocks wide with one block apart into the ocean to grow their wheat. There were no immediate mobs nearby and a deadly storm raged for much of the early period believed to originate from settlers tampering with a mysterious red-stone machine found in the forest. Infrastructure during the early period was non-existent and the only buildings were a well and an early ranch.
As the village started growing from an influx of members so too did it's variety of produce now seeing the introduction of melons, sheep, cows, and pigs. Iron, once rare, started becoming common as members were coming in with stacks of it acquired through donations from the Paraguayan bernd and a nearby vein of iron. This period also saw many developments being made within the city including but not limited to:
- A perimeter wall made of stone bricks, slabs, and stairs around the city made by ChaosProscho and expanded by others.
- A communal storage house run by dbb.
- A flak tower made by Heebmind, Brbgoing2moon, Mcixi, Mothership_Q, and Desertfawks.
- Housing and infrastructure throughout much of the city.
- The discovery of a nearby iron vein by Jogiff.
- A obsidian-cast nether portal that was off-center, driving Cpearson420 mad.
Conflict
For the first time they discovered they were not alone on the continent. To the east of our settlement (300-400m) was a grand tower. Skillzor, wanting to get off to a good start, left a three page book in front of the tower in a chest with a name to contact us by for the future cooperation of the continent:

We are the Fourth Reich, and should this name instill fear into your heart we ask you to put your fear aside and answer a couple of questions. The Fourth Reich is most generous and except for this donation of a crate, sign, and message also grant you a book to write your answers in, we will come to collect the book on the 14th of July. Failure in answering will give us no choice but to action. First of all who are you? Does your land have a name? How many people are you? Would you consider future cooperation between us? That is all, we'll come and collect our answer on the 14th of July. Do not look for us. </WRAP>
Finally a response. Stevo1066 and Stormrider messaged the Reich and asked to talk to the Führer, Skillzor123, on mumble. However, he did not have a microphone, so Heebmind and Brbgoing2moon went too as transcribers.
Stevo1066, who showed up in Berlin town in diamond armour and sword drawn was very uncooperative and immediately brought up that he laid a claim to the whole continent. Along with this he accused the Fourth Reich that one of their members broke into his house and broke his snitch. Despite this accusation Skillzor and the diplomats present remained calm and asked for all his diamonds on him as a tribute so we may have peace. Stevo, though reluctantly, ended up handing over 10 diamonds, but threatened the Reich of intervention from the Pumpkin Jacks.
At this point the Fourth Reich members who were out by Stormrider's Tower return to Berlin, and for a while they worked on city building.
Just an hour later, word is received from one of the Fourth Reich members that Stevo has made a thread on the subreddit asking for help. Outraged, the Fourth Reich members get ready for war. Swords, iron armour, and food are distributed among the populace, and even the diamonds given by Stevo1066 were made into swords.
When the attack was launched the Fourth Reich members fought fiercely, even fanatically, but they were overwhelmed by the invaders' diamond advantage. Within minutes the battle reached the Berlin suburbs. The Jacks fight their way block by block, firing bows at point-blank range and by July 12th capture the Reichstag and wave their flag from the roof signalling the conflict was over.
The battle ended up with a lot of hurt feelings, and the majority of Fourth Reich being pearled. The town was relatively untouched by the attackers and Stevo in terms of aesthetics (chests were looted), but some time in the past few months a group has settled there, called it Civitivecchia, and terraformed it destroying much precious history.
