Founding
After losing his claytican friends, Endergun of New Leningrad decided he wanted to do a long dream of his and make a city in Civcraft. Seeing as he had been growing on the idea of market-socialism, he decided to base his city around that concept and founded it in a desert for leverage of the concept. Griffin was founded on September, 20th, 2013 by FGR leader Endergun. It then established its official status as a city to Carbon to gain recognition and later on to pavel_the_hitman on the transport map. It has since been recognized as a nation after development happening beyond borders of Griffin.
Etymology
The name Gardizona was chosen for its similarity with Arizona, seeing as it was a desert and homage to the US state in communism seemed pleasant. The actual meaning behind Gardizona is a corruption of the spanish phrase "zona de guardaparques" which in english translates to "zone of rangers".
The provinces of Gardizona also have special etymology as well. Tsardom was named because it is the province that houses the capital of Griffin. Aunev was made because during FGR's founding, it was planned to be a main economy area. Aunev being a name reffering to the chemical symbol of gold, AU and nev, a common way to end a russian name. Nortedel was chosen because it is the northmost province. Gorbia was chosen because it appears to have almost disolved away from FGR, just as Mikhail Gorbachev once did to the USSR.
Provinces
For an easier way of naming areas of the Gardizonan desert, Different areas have been labeled for use as formal speaking of Gardizona.
The largest province of Gardizona is Tsardom, consisting of a large vertical area to gardizona's west, bordering Gorbia and Aunev. Aunev Is the second largest east of Gardizona, bordering only Tsardom. Norte is the second smallest, existing as a seperate desert mass north of Mount Augusta. Gorbia is the smallest province and the most western, existing as an island, a tiny alaska-esque galapagos, and a small chunk of the Gardizona mainland.
There are however semi-provincial areas that are recognized by their sole owners but still remain as part of Gardizona. There is Augustan Aunev, which is Augustan allowed area of Gardizona, forming a small box along Point President's X coordnant and the Aunev border. There is also Goodsprings Aunev, forming a 200 m r circle around it's designated center point.
Dissolution
The FGR was dissolved by Endergun in March of 2014 because of issues concerning wealth and population. It has been seceeded into the Free State Of Gardizona (Grundeswegian Gardizona) and the Southern Gardizonan (Gorbian) Empire
