The Katten Khanate (Commonly reffered to as The Mongols or The Horde) are a formerly-warmongering group of Mongols that are now part of the Ottoman Empire. They are known to build yurts in Desert biomes and steppes. They are situated nicely with the Ottoman Empire on the Great Steppe of Kataristan.

The cross-realm succesor of the same name The Katten Khanate, members from there joined in the middle of 2012 to accompany their fellow bernds in the 4th Reich, dropping their Katar identity. In late 2012 near the end of Civcraft 1, the first Katar settlement was created on the server in a desert outside of Artistopolis.

History

Founding

Katar nomads arrived on 2.0 looking for a home to set up. Eventually they found the city of Carson, which let them build yurts in a nearby jungle. In that nearby jungle the first Katar settlement of Yeni Katarbad was founded. However due to the inability to grow crops in this arid enviroment they were force to migrate. Their migrations led them all around the map, popping up yurts where ever they'd go and scavaging for food. Sooner or later the Katars found themselves in Kappi, a very different feel than their usual rural enviroments. Nonetheless a yurt was erected, however due to a revolution 2 days later, the Katars were again forced to migrate. The Katars heard wind of another fellow Turan Nation called the Ottoman Empire. The Katars felt this was where they belonged. They set out and intergrated themselves into the Ottoman Empire on the Great Steppe of Kataria. The Ottomans and Katars got along exceeding well and a strong relationship was forged between the two peoples. The Katars eventually joined the Ottoman Empire remaining a seperate ethnic identity and becomining and Autonomous Republic of the Ottoman Empire.

The Raids on Istanbul

Soon however relations between the Katars and the Ottomans turned sour. A raiding group called the Aixyz Front had been relentlessly attacking the Ottoman capital of Istanbul. Aixyz, who was the leader of the group was pearled by Khan Kovio and as such was a prime targed of this brigade. Time and time again, Kataristan was raided, burnt down, and everything stolen. Once the Brigade had arms good enough to fight Ottoman steel they sieged Istanbul and occupied it, pearling any citizen they could find.

After losing almost everything the Katars had they considered leaving as this warzone was not a place they were happy being in, which is ironic in it's own sense. Despite this, the Ottomans would not let the Katars leave and threatened to take away all autonomy from Kataristan should they attempt to leave or declare independance. The Katars furious with this gathered their men and attacked the Ottomans, who due to incessant attacks, had little to no armour. While the Katars were clad in full Diamond. They did not wish to have to do this, but had to to stop the imperialistic nature of the Ottomans. Currently talks are in the works for the Katars to come back to assist the Ottomans, but Katars are weary of their autonomy being abused again.

After the attack to not be spiteful they peacefully left and head to meet up with one Ronald 'Reagen' Grundeswald, the CEO Of Grundescorp. They traveled thousands of kilometres but finally met up with their old friend. They currently live in a small settlement called New Istanbul.

Settlements

Yeni Katarbad - A settlement in the jungle next to Carson.

Katarşehir - Located on the Great Steppe of Kataria, currently abandoned and waiting for negotions to finish with the Ottoman Empire.

Kentselyurt - This is located on the west side of Kappi and declared independance from Kappi during the riots. Still remains autonomy.

Politics

The Khanate has no real leadership, with its citizens instead having a hive mentality. Kovio Khan is the official leader, when not available Greenkitten takes charge.
They have taken a much less jingoistic stance in the political landscape of civcraft in stark contrast to kc/int/.

Economy

Suffering from heavy losses during the Raids on Istanbul, the Katars are very poor currently. They hope to get help from Industrialst Ronald 'Reagan' Grundeswald to bring them back to their former glory.

Culture

Like-minded individuals who agree that all is to be sacrificed for the future of the Khanate. You gibe or we take.

War

War is an essential part of of the Katten Khanate's culture, it is the only activity in which all the mongols gather. However due to the difference in the geo-political landscape the Katars have decided to simply act as mercanaries, and vow protection to cities.

War songs

Sometimes the Khanate likes to sing songs about war, they even a theme for a war that occured on kc/int/ called the Soviet-Weeaboo wars called Come out Ye Reds and Gams.
