Bryn City

A bustling modern suburbia-like town located in the (+,-) quadrant, founded collectively by PointyBagels, MrGerbic, tehaleks, FriedrichHayek, KillYourFaceGo, LowlyPeon, and Weasey. Houses are typically grandiose in nature, and great care is taken of the large trees in the area. It was informally a part of the True Neutral League, and while it has since left the League, still considers its neighbors close friends and trading partners.

History

Bryn City started out in the temporary camp for all of the True Neutral League nations around 3000, -3000 to gather resources and look for a suitable place to settle down. The Brynnonites quickly moved from that temporary camp once they found a suitable spot and got to work on large farms, highways, roads, and their houses, as well as public works projects.

For the first couple of weeks, most of the citizens as Bryn worked hard in mines and afterwards would go and camp out criminals who caused damage in Aurora, Bryn, or Fellowship. Relations with its neighbors could never have been higher.

Relations started going downhill, however, when Brynnonites took to drinking on those long, cold nights of camping griefers and started playing pranks on the Aurorans. There was also the "Mirango Incident" in which a couple of homesteaders settled on what Brynites considered Bryn territory (More here, and Here).

Quite quickly after these incidents, however, Sami Ghani (Bryn's resident Diplomat/admin crimez) told the Brynnonites to settle down and to stop pestering Aurora and the Agoran Federation - even if they were drunk. Because of this, and other peoples' own realizations, people from Bryn were seen with Aurorans and people from all over the map cleaning DRO from the city of Aurora and the relationship between these two cities started to mend.

Also around this time (June 30th - July 4th, 2013), Bryn decided to open up a Casino (WIP), the Bryn Historical Museum (finished), a Mosque (not started), and a lighthouse/docks area (not started).

tehaleks also became a news chronicler around this time releasing the "Bryn Chronicles". Issue 1, Issue 2.5, Issue 3.

Laws and Government

Bryn is officially an anarchy with no formal leaders or constitution. However, private citizens tend to respect the positions of fellow residents, and in place of a formal government more often than not vote in a democratic manner (among active players at the time) on both major and minor decisions involving the town as a whole. See the list of notable residents for a list of people who have unofficial job titles as well.

Laws are simple:

You must participate in the local cultural "game" of "Stumping", and you must not violate people's basic rights. This means no murder, no theft, no assault, no vandalism, etc.

Bryn also has a laid back build code unamiously agreed upon by the original settlers of the island (thus has the binding of a contract) which new residents must agree to before recieving a plot.

Landmarks and Surroundings

Bryn shares a relatively close location in the (+,-) with Aurora, Fellowship and the Grundeswald Freestate though travel to these cities is still no small task. Notable landmarks in Bryn include, Bryn Farmers' Market, Ludwig von Mises Station, the Bryn Hotel, and individual homes of the city's residents, most of which are very well constructed and beautiful.

Economy

Bryn is economically self sustaining and benefits largely from being a net exporter of luxury goods. It's residents are mostly upper-middle class, with few falling below the poverty line, and several falling into the category of high upper-class.

Bryn's largest export markets are Aurora, Orion, and the Grundeswald Freestate.

Hephaestus Industries, a company based on producing luxury consumer goods for pvpers, is headquarted in Bryn. DeRango Rail utilizes Ludwig von Mises Station as its central hub for lines stretching throughout the +,- which lies below the Bryn Farmer's Market.
