Rapture
Rapture is a year-old coastal-and-island city located at (-5470, 3900).
The area initially became settled under Dossier5's leadership on April 7th 2012, but was soon all but abandoned. It was then picked up by jacejace, Marcus_Flaminius and williamjf, who became the founders of Rapture as it is commonly known. During the time of the Columbian Republic, it was an autonomous city within the Republic of Columbia. Following the dissolution of the Republic by Foofed, the city managed to avoid most all of the conflict and emerged as an independent city state. Being both smaller and less visited than Columbia, it continues to remain out of harm's way relatively well to this day.
In terms of trade, there is a shopping district (currently closed), market stalls (currently unstocked) in the Waterfront district and the Grand Arcade (currently unstocked) quite close to the portal.
Land in Rapture is obtained based on trust. It is collectively owned by the citizens. This also means that any embassies are only allocated land, although for an indefinite amount of time, they do not own it.
To obtain land, you will first need to stick around for a while by, for example, renting an apartment from either jacejace, jftman or Hexington, to show that you can be trusted by the other citizens.

Towers are forbidden structures within Rapture
As of March 24th 2013, the Waterfront district, excluding the rail station and the rail lines, is the property of the Maester Alliance.
Interesting facts
Rapture serves as the hiding place of the last known Dragon Egg on Civcraft starting from at least July 2012.
