New Pyongyang is an isolationist city hidden deep in the +,- quadrant, named after the real life capital of North Korea. It is the founding city of the Coalition of Communist Comrades (C.C.C.) and follows the principle of Juche and communism. The concept of New PyongYang was created by /u/Dr_plasma (quickcash) in late December 2012 after the Christmas Day Massacre in Mount Augusta. The idea was to create a communist city that was independent from the outside world and hidden from HCF raiders. After a highly secret private forum thread between higher ranking members of the Mount Augustan Communist Party, a new city and quadrant for it to be built in were decided in aforementioned thread.
Shortly after CommieLiberator and DemanRisu sailed deep into the +,- and landed at an island where they built the first shelter and mineshaft for the new city. It was during the construction of it when they decided on the name for this new city in a vote (New Pyongyang). Shortly after democratic elections were held and Geckolubber was voted as our first month's dictator. New workers had been brought, and they narrowly avoided being found by HCF scouts, though the city managed to stay hidden thanks to the Dear Leader's wisdom and courage. After a small argument Geckolubber was declared Eternal Leader of New Pyongyang until the city was finished, where he would then let the city move to pure communism. A group of rebels who called themselves the Yugoslavians led an attempted and failed revolution in Buenos Aires. They were given shelter and political asylum in New Pyongyang after being forced to flee Buenos. Afterwards, they left to form their own city and win the elections of Buenos Aires, leading the way in establishing true socialism.
NPY narrowly avoided being massacred by a pair of savages from a barren cluster of islands named New Mesa. They stole from the nearby satellite city of Gaesong. This cruel fate was avoided thanks to the Dear and Glorious Leader's might, intellect and superior pvp skills, which saved NPY from annihilation at the hands of the barbarian's primitive weapons. However Gaesong had to be permanently evacuated as the ignorant savages could not be trusted to keep it's location a secret. A small team was dispatched to New Mesa who destroyed any remnants of the settlement. A large Juche Tower (based off the tower in the real life Pyongyang) dedicated to Juche and the victory over the pathetic raiders was built where New Mesa once stood.
The newly-born Yugoslavian capital city of Belgrade was assaulted by a nearby group of imperialist 'libertarians' under the banner of the Kingdom of Gondolin who insisted that they owned the land on which Belgrade sat and who wished to crush the budding rose of socialism in the area. Soon after, a vile and debased savage came to NPY demanding diamonds in compensation in repayment for unknown crimes. Our Dear Leader, knowing without a doubt his treacherous intentions, wisely decided to give him 32 diamonds, and the issue was resolved. It later was suspected by Geckolubber but never proven that the account belonged to a high-ranking member of NPY who was using it to acquire the People's diamonds for his own selfish and nefarious purposes. The suspect then stole much of the remaining diamonds using another account. CommieLiberator, the person accused of being the thief, returned to NPY after NPY launched an attack on Trotskygrad. In the return, he unsucessfully tried to retrieve his gear but was pearled without trial instead. This incident was the final straw and plans were made to evacuate New Pyongyang.
