Bay City
Bay City is a medium sized town in the central +/+ bordering an ocean. Buildings in Bay City are made of sandstone, with lapis as a common accent. Bay City lies somewhere between capitalist and socialist politically. Plots are free for new residents, and many facilities are available free to use for residents and the public. However, many residents of Bay City are capitalist traders, and shops exist in town and just outside the portal netherside.
Foundation and History
Bay City was founded in December 2012 by ryanamidon, tabian, and pala52.
Landmarks and Surroundings
Bay City spans both a forest biome and a grass-covered desert biome, and borders the ocean. It is nearby Tux Hold and the Prussian city of Germania.
Notable buildings include the Town Hall, which is by far the largest building in town, the Lighthouse, and the PvP arena. It is also home to one of the smallest ocean biomes on civcraft, which is a circle with a diameter of about 40 blocks.
Economy
Bay City is primarily on the production side of the economy. Main exports are sand, sandstone, glass, leather, wool, iron, obsidian, XP, potions, and enchanted items. Much of trade takes place in the Nether Store, right outside the portal area, but a shopping district exists within the town as well, along with numerous private shops.
Transportation
Bay City can be accessed from an offshoot of the main +/+ nether road that goes from 0,0 to Nine. Additionally, there are plans in place to add Bay City to the Red Line of the railway network, and additional plans for a road from Datan-Kegeth. An overworld road links Bay City to Tux Hold, and an underground tunnel exists linking Bay City to Azrael.
