▲The 2.0 Mount Augusta retains certain features of the 1.0 city. The Independent Principality of Loveshack is still located within Mount Augusta, and the sides of the streets and roads are mostly lined with spruce wood. An identical recreation of the Arch from 1.0 Augusta, the 1.0 Augustan Communist Party Headquarters and a recreation of the 1.0 courthouse are also to be found.

▲In Civcraft 2.0, Mount Augusta was not immediately reformed, unlike many other heavily populated cities from the first map. Many Augustans continued with other cities (such as New Augusta, Carson, The Commonwealth and Lio) or simply became inactive.
It was not until a number of months into 2.0 when LeonardU made a call to Augustans to come together again and recreate the city on the new map. Off to the side of a quiet road leading into the deep (+,+), the first ground was broken and Mount Augusta began again. Old and new residents came to the location and the core of the city quickly sprang up.

Early Months
The city grew quickly and became a significant member of international trade, due to its ideal location along the CIC Yellow line, between Carbon and Holy Tree. But after a fast initial growth, interest in the city started to die down along with a start of raids. These raids included IRO'd streets, and theft, notably Zaphod100 (caretaker mayor at the time) losing the majority of his valuables. The city fell into disrepair, with it only having 1 permanent resident (Zaphod100) in the April CAI.
First Golden Age of Mount Augusta
A player called Wanado144 joined the city and together with Zaphod100 cleared the city up and got interest going again. Many new citizens, primarily British players and their friends, joined and the city started to experience rapid urban growth. By June the city hit its peak population in 2014, with

The city of East Ridge, which had been established north in early April, grew in parallel with Mount Augusta, at times reaching higher population and activity than Mount Augusta during May and early June. Mount Augusta and East Ridge developed close and friendly relations, and a rail line was quickly set up between the cities. Many old East Ridgians moved into New Detroit and Mount Augusta after the summer.

When the conflict between the World Police and Nox became violent, Augusta initially stayed neutral, dissolving their defence pact with Nox. However, when Nox DRO griefed Aurora, a group of Augustans went to clear DRO, and ended up pearling a Noxian that attacked them. This caused Nox to attack Augusta, but they were held back by the combined forces of the World Police and Augusta, who later launched an assault on the Noxian Vault, becoming the first group to successfully break a megavault.

The End of 2.0
On the 10th of January 2016, it was revealed that Civcraft 2.0 was going to end. The server went into chaos, with much violence erupting across the server. Prof_TANSTAAFL resigned as mayor, and plans for Mount Augusta in Civcraft 3.0 were made.
City services and features
Mount Augusta has a strong civic personality, with a diverse set of useful resources for new and established players. The publicly available services in Mount Augusta rival many centrally-controlled towns, and are generally open to visitors as well.
Installed principally by Blue_muffinboy and with significant donations from ProgrammerDan, Thoths, AMB, and countless others, Mount Augusta was one of only a few cities to install a Nether Factory within moments of its availability on the server. Now boasting connections to Carson, U3P's hub, the Hexagon, and other nether locations, Mount Augusta is positioned to be just as central to travel in the Nether as in the overworld. Contact Blue_Muffinboy (also belial418) or ProgrammerDan for issues concerning access.
Installed by MSToodles and Blue_muffinboy, the Mt. Augusta Metro links all corners of Mount Augusta into a central rail system, and includes connections to New Detroit and Istanbul. It can be conveniently accessed from the ground floor of the CIC, which leads to the hub; from there, other destinations are clearly listed. Don't get lost in Mount Augusta again!
AUDI
Just north of the CIC station in central Mount Augusta is the AUDI (Augustan Urban Development Initiative) financial district, managed by Ladezkik. This used to host most of the shops and stands in the Grand Market, and was established by Ladezkik and delphsta in June 2014 in order to encourage high-quality urban development in Mount Augusta, as at the time the city was riddled with cheap newfriend shacks springing up.
Line 132 ⟶ 97:
Currently the AUDI is home to a handful of small shops, large corporate headquarters, and the HighTillIDie Memorial Tower modeled after the CN Tower. Most of the shops that used to fill the AUDI were run down in favor of the more recent Al-Ishaar Market on West Side.
After the summer of 2014, Mount Augusta saw a small influx of people from New Danzilona. One of these people was Weishaar, the old Grand Lorax of the Danzilonan Danzmarket district, who proceeded to establish a market district based on the same model in Mount Augusta. This district was initially branded as the Moon District, but the close proximity of Istanbul and some of the greatest deserts on Civcraft prompted the branding of the district as Al-Ishaar.
The district saw only minor growth over the rest of the year, as the growth of Mount Augusta had stagnated and population had declined, and Weishaar went inactive for several weeks. In March 2015, Weishaar returned and began aggressive development of Al-Ishaar, aided the rapid resurgence of population in Mount Augusta.
There are some shops outside of the AUDI and Al-Ishaar districts, mainly to be found along the East-West highway. It is recommended to wander around the town, as at times people set up shops at their homes.
Mount Augusta has two principle public farms, the first is contained in Little Vanier just South-East of the CIC and has melons, carrots, and wheat. The second is much larger, and located North/North-East of the CIC, just outside of Istanbul. This large farm hosts wheat, melons, carrots, pumpkins, and potatoes. All that is asked is to replant the field whenever something is harvested. As a rule of thumb, any fields in Mount Augusta can be harvested in an emergency, so long as the crops are replanted.
At last count, Mount Augusta has two public stone quarries. One is in the middle of the city behind Altegron's stone-selling shop, and the other is on the south road leading out of Mount Augusta, hosted by House Wowls.
There are numerous public tree farms all through Mount Augusta, both on the south, east, north, and west of the city. Although Oak is the dominant tree type, three areas of Birch trees also are maintained, one to the South East of CIC, another to the north of Little Vanier, and a third in the eastern shadow of Istanbul.
A recent addition to the city's public services due to donations by many of its premier residents in both time and materials is a very large gold farm (portal farm) to the north of the city. Some of the chests and hoppers may be citadel protected to prevent abuse, but its purpose is public -- contact Blue_muffinboy for access.
On top of the gold farm exists a large public cactus farm. Similar to the public gold farm, this may have some restrictions to prevent abuse, but its intent is to be public. Ask in chat for help or access.
Line 168 ⟶ 133:
The second is organized and run by the Mount Augusta Factory Organization (MAFO), presided by ProgrammerDan and run by donations (same as Wanado144 and R3NNYB's facility). It is located to the south east of the CIC -- take the road south from CIC until you reach LeonardU's Big Gay Forum and Bathhouse, then head east, the factory building will be on your left. This building has two levels -- the first is entirely open to the public and contains many useful factories, including a public Ore Smelter. The second layer is public, but access restricted -- inquiries for access should be forwarded to ProgrammerDan or any of the appointed factory managers. It contains high cost or sensitive factories, such as sword smithies and fancy smelters.
Information on both factory buildings can be found in
Ore Exchange
Line 174 ⟶ 139:
Although currently limited to iron and diamond, Mount Augusta hosts an ore exchange funded by Altegron, within the MAFO complex. It can be found by following the only staircase down within the MAFO building, and ores can be exchanged at cost, with no overhead.
