History

FOUNDING

The idea of creating a city for the otaku boards had been around since the arrive of channers on the server, but all prior attempts had been short lived and unsuccessful. Undaunted, kovio and centipede777 resolved to see a successful city before 3.0. Efforts would be put forth upon the arrival of a third /a/non called Spazzy_Genius. A possible location was scouted out by centipede to the north of Titan, just outside of chat range, and after retrieving approval from the previous owner, construction was started. After several days of extreme insomnia, Spazzy_Genius began drafting the Akihabara constitution, drawing inspiration from the US constitution, the recent Viridian "Democracy Acts," and the recent shenanigans in Intis regarding the failure of their consitution.

PRE-CONSTITUTIONAL PERIOD

This period is mostly marked by mining, mushroom farming, and immigration. Notable immigrants include Moscow, daddo69, WojtekPaint, and Certainty_. During this time the Constitution was edited several times over, approved by all founding members except kovio, who wished to review it thoroughly before approving it. A series of bills was also drawn up by Spazzy_Genius at this time in an attempt to build a working framework of laws.

THE GAINAX PERIOD

centipede777's presidency term officially began on January 13th,2015 with Spazzy_Genius as the Vice-President Moscow as dean of the city. This day also marked the ratification of the constitution as all provisions for government were fulfilled. The population of Akihabara grew from a village of 6 to a town of 23. The geofront was excavated during this period, and Certainty constructed a series of mob-grinders and rails with the help of the other citizens. During this period, several citizens also retired from CivCraft including Moscow and Retard_Magnet, both of whom donated their wealth to the young city, while other citizens, Daddo69 and ArturielDwan, were promoted into the Yorozuya as Akihabara's first Police Officers. As of March 8th, 2015 Spazzy_Genius has resigned from his position as Vice-President with there yet to be a replacement. On March 26th, the Treaty of Incorporation was signed by Centipede777, Certainty and Screenname. This treaty incorporated Akihabara as an autonomous state within Gensokyo.

Culture

Akihabara is renowned across Chanada as a center of weeaboo culture, offering a safe haven for local wolfgirls to awoo~. Its numerous major build projects, including the Geofront, the Bebop, and Akihabara High School, are in various stages of construction, and frequent guests can see the progress (or lack thereof) made. Visitors may also note the remaining examples of architecture from the city's formative period, such as the outdated welcome board in the former rail station and the cobble public baths near the stables (a demonstrative example of the departed Spazzy_Genius' inexplicable architectural design choices).
