Civcraft wiki importing
Quality and standards in this category are grossly inconsistent. Beginning on January 7th 2020, CivWiki will improve pages in this category from A to Z, with a focus on particularly significant civilizations.
CivcraftImport:How to

The original Civcraft wiki was imported to CivWiki under the CivcraftImport and Civcraft2Import namespaces. The original Civcraft wiki used a different software and format than CivWiki, so these articles will need to be cleaned up before being moved into the main namespace. The eventual goal is to move all of these articles into the main namespace.
Improvement does not necessarily mean a task as extensive as rewriting an article. The primary goal of this WikiProject is so a new player could read the wiki without being confused over what information is accurate. Many pages are categorized as good articles even if they contain significant factual errors. These page categories should be updated and warnings should be placed on pages which are particularly misleading.

Update metaMaintenance pages
It may be helpful to refer to CivWiki:Editing Guide

Go through the maintenance special pages and clean them up. What needs to be done depends on the category.
Update meta pages
* Special:WantedPages - research and create the wanted article. Only create the article if you have a decent quality start — don't create a blank or stub article here just to get it off the list.
Meta pages such as CivWiki:Editing Projects and CivWiki:Editing Guide are perhaps the most important to keep updated and clear. It must be clear how to edit a page and to what standards a page is judged.
* Special:WantedFiles - figure out why the file is missing, and fix it. Many of these are because articles from the Civcraft wiki migration link to files that don't exist in the main namespace yet. These files will need to be moved from the Civcraft namespace to the main namespace.
* Special:BrokenRedirects - determine the correct redirect location.
* Special:DeadEndPages - these pages usually have some hyperlinks that can be added to a relevant page.
* Special:LonelyPages - there is usually some other page that should be linking to this page, but isn't.
* Special:DoubleRedirects - double redirects should almost always be replaced with the final, "true" redirect location.
* Special:RottenLinks - find a live link and replace it, or upload the relevant content into the wiki (replacing the link) so it doesn't rot again.
* Special:UncategorizedPages - add the relevant categories to these pages.

Special:WantedPages lists some pages that are linked to yet do not exist. There are many other major events and features which lack a page.

Categories
Categories need a rework. It is not always clear when a category should be applied. Even the names of categories are inconsistent with some being plural and some being singular. There is not a clear criteria for 'Good Article' or any other article ranking.

Periodically check Special:UncategorizedPages for pages that lack a category.

Any custom formatting possible on Wikipedia is possible on CivWiki, and sometimes can be imported in only a few clicks. Templates can greatly increase ease and speed of editing, navigating and reading. If you are unsure of where to find good templates or inspiration, use Wikipedia's random good article feature.

Navbox
Navboxes list related pages. This or something similar would be useful to have on many articles, for example on a conflict article in order to see all battles and other related conflict pages.

In addition, the version of dynamic page list used by CivWiki is outdated and lacks features. This is what is used to list "★★★★★ Model pages" on the CivWiki main page. As this is essential it would be useful to find a superior alternative that allows for more precise and readable formatting.

Infobox
Work has begin on Template:Infobox civilization. However much more work is needed to make the infobox as easy and flexible to use as possible. Infoboxes for other categories, such as events and conflicts would also be useful.

Wanted Pages
Special:WantedPages could be made more useful. It is currently filled with templates.
