History

SPQR can trace its history for over 3 years across multiple servers. However the current incarnation is made up of a mixture of many different groups, some even former enemies.

In 2.0 Civcraft, NovaCeasar founded the city of Kaiserin near the Roman protectorate of Zana, and established the Kaiserinreich. SPQR, in a lul of activity at the time, only noticed Kaiserin about two months afterwards because she triggered the snitches by tearing down signposts and claiming land that was not hers. As time went on, friction between SPQR and Kaiserin lead to near war, only being avoided when Kaiserin reluctantly joined their western neighbor. This friction was caused by Novaceasar attempting to claim SPQR land as her own by putting up signposts and claiming she had no knowledge of the existing ones, chiefly around the desert outpost of Gippos. She also attempted to have the city of Athens join her city but was thwarted due to the efforts of the loyal prefect oss_spy.

Several months later, Kaiserin fought a War of Independance of SPQR, and secured its independance, this conflict however lead to a long and bitter history for years afterwards until Devoted, where the two groups began to let the past go and work together. Upon the start of CivClassic, NovaCeasar, having wanted to lead a Roman themed nation for some time, brought the people from Kaiserin over to form the new Founders of SPQR.

As time went on, Romans from 2.0 Civcraft began to join the new SPQR, rising through the ranks and leading to a mixture of both old and new Romans. This would lead to the knowledge and history of old SPQR being combined with that of old Kaiserin, allowing for a stronger and more stable SPQR to rise and take its rightful place on the server.
