Icenia is well known for its storied past in the closing months of Civcraft 2.0. In CivClassic, it is a very active nation, with a considerable number of active players. Icenia is bordered by [[Imperial Truidence]] to the east, [[Bloom]] to the north, [[Gabon]] to the west, and [[Varkonia]] in the south. Icenia also holds rightful claim over the [[Nexus|0,0 Nexus]] as per the [[Icenian-Finglish]] summit. Icenia is a cultural hub with a large economy and a large player-base.

As the population of Icenia exploded in West Isle, tensions arose between the mayoral government of West Isle and the federal government of Icenia, who mostly resided in Icenia City. Many of the issues revolved around the status of Icenia's democratic systems, with West Isle in favor of broader democratization and the government of central Icenia in favor of keeping the system of Federalism put in place in the first Constitution. These tensions climaxed during the September elections, with all incumbents finding their positions highly contested by members of West Isle, most notably Lagiacrus11, the long time Minister of Foreign Affairs.
West Isle candidates ran on platforms of democratization and leaving the UDF, supporting the newly formed [[LSD]], and "repairing international relations with New Sovia, [[Adina (CivClassics)|Adina]], and [[Laconia]]". While the election was tight, only one incumbent was unseated and the majority of West Isle subsequently quit the server in anger at losing the election and perhaps their best chance at establishing political control within Icenia.

Further drama included [[Amelorate]]'s sentencing in a crafting table theft case, in which the court wavered in its opinion on the amount of diamond reps Amel would have to pay to LordCheiftain following a breach in his old factory room located just outside the Cringe Pit exclusion zone. This was in large part due to ChrisChrispie's prodding of judge 1drop to reduce diamond reps from over 100 to around 15. This was seen as an egregious violation of the separation between the judges and the office of the President which had been established in July of 2019 via [[Vend3tta]]'s constitutional rewrite. After the September Elections, Icenia continued forward in a precarious position diplomatically within it's alliance, the UDF. Tension had broken out particularly between Yoahtl and Columbia over differences in opinion and strategy. Icenia generally speaking tried to tow the line and sat in the middle between these two nations, attempting to mediate disputes through Enforcer15. Icenia would support Yoahtl over the Mount September Ice Road Conflict, but support Columbia in the decision to not get involved on an alliance scale with the ongoing issues in Wayrest with OKX. Near the end of the server, these conflicts would cause Icenia to seek other alliances and there was talk between Icenia and Columbia about creating a new alliance in a similar vein to Entente. This never came to fruition, although Icenia did join the revamped UNC in the waning days of the server. While in the UNC, Icenia would gear itself up for a war looming on the horizon with Kallos over the betrayal of KnotNSA and theories that Yoahtl Vault would be attacked. While Icenian troops were stationed in Varkonia awaiting a potential skybridge there, word came that Civclassics would be ending. In the final days of the server Icenia rushed to complete builds and keep the city safe from grief. Public tours were also given at the Cringe Pit Home for Troubled Youth, Poortea was unbanned and fought in the streets of Icenia, and skirmishes broke out by Cringe Pit with some very "half assed" attempts to break it made. Icenia would leave Civclassic as the predominant economic power on the server outside of Hjaltland and the most populated city on Civclassic.

The Jewish Quarter (JQ) was one of the most prominent and well designed portions of Icenia City during its early days. It contained the city's primary factory room and housed a vast portion of Icenia's shops and businesses. Nexus is an external district in Icenia that serves as a major international rail hub for much of the server. Nexus was formally transferred to Icenia by John Smith aka. [[Stonato]] after the Icenian-Finglish Summit in late April 2019, after a period of abandonment. Icenia maintains a direct connection to Nexus via its 0,0 'rail switch compatible' rail line, which also serves as a major transport artery to +,+ nations such as Caledonia. Relations with SATO while in the alliance were lukewarm, while SATO hesitantly supported Icenia during the [[Mount Augusta (CivClassic 2.0)|Mount Augusta]] extradition crisis, relations began to become frayed as Icenia and [[Bloom]] continued petty spats over Fig and Croc's willingness to rabblerouse in the region and accuse players of antisemitism. This came to a head after the first Icenian debates in late May, 2019 when then-candidate Figasaur accused specificlanguage (managing Mount Augustan voter registration) of various allegations in regards to Fig's time in the Mount Augustan JQ.
