|In the late days of the Infinity war, Lemur campaigned hard to end hostilities with Mir in the NATO alliance. His pleas falling on deaf ears, he introduced a petition to Chancellor KnotNSA to pull Columbia out of the war. It passed unanimously and a months-long deliberation with Mir started, culminating in the Treaty of Apoland which ended the war for Columbia.<br />
Lemur chose to run for chancellor, winning unanimously. Once back in Columbia and at peace, the country grew slightly under his tenure. He introduced Projects Anvil and Pathos, in which he paid diamonds for builds and books. While good in spirit, these initiatives failed to attract diversity in Columbian literature and architecture and most books and builds were produced by the same few users as before. He attempted to facilitate a constitutional convention where the charter was rewritten to be more inclusive for newfriends, though the bitter spirit present within certain oldfriend circles and the confusing, self-serving power dynamics leftover from several ineffective administrations proved difficult for newfriends to navigate. Immigrants and people yearning for a life away from the infinity war flocked to the nation en mass for a while. Rhodesian immigrants settled in the north of the Country, calling their colony Rhodes.

Though things often spent time stuck in the mire of the status quo, one thing Chancellor Lemur could never seem to achieve was a semblance of national unity. A relic of an older time with engrained biases and personal axes to grind present at every turn, Lemur struggled to act as an impartial leader working toward what was best for Columbia. The people of Rhodes and the rest of Columbia bickered, despite the reliance of the Rotterdam political elite on the industrial output of their productive northern neighbour. Tensions increased when Rhodes, under the leadership of Kdeeks, built an impressive bunker complex on groups separate from the Columbian default on the basis of protecting the province's infrastructure from any desperate actions by the fading Rotterdam elite.

In the mean time, Lemur was strongly opposed to a citizen-led push for a new Columbian charter. While unable to publicly oppose the charter, the document was likely to dispose of the stagnant political clique that saw the role of Chancellor idly trade hands between Shadedoom, KnotNSA, and Lemur himself. In a meek attempt to postpone the inevitable, Chancellor Lemur acted in direct opposition of a prior governmental promise for a new charter on December 1st. Postponing the shift, the Lemur administration offered no real explanation, though the motivations behind the deceptive act were clear. At this time, Chancellor Lemur continued to shrink behind the word of Emperor Shadedoom and spent more time embodying a figurehead status, despite his title.

Having the only real sustaining output present in the nation, the government of Rhodes was reticent to grant full control of the industrial machine to the distant elite. While some officials felt this was in violation of the law, the Columbian charter left an incredible amount of unnavigable legal grey area—the motivation behind the strong, citizen-led push for a new charter—that facilitated confusion at every turn. The situation boiled over just before Christmas of 2019 when an assassination attempt was taken out on Emporer Kdeeks by Chancellor Lemur and Emporer Shadedoom. When the attempt proved unsuccessful, Lemur admitted involvement and resigned out of shame.

Sensing danger, Kdeeks was able to narrowly maintain control of Columbian groups from an attempted theft by Lemur and Shadedoom, preserving the builds and interests of the Columbian citizenry. Ashamed and having ended his reign with an unforgivable act of treason, Lemur orchestrated an obsidian bomb of his former nation including locations in Rotterdam and Rhodes before quitting CivClassics.
