Fellowship

A small settlement in the (-,-) quadrant founded by Happycamper. It has two walled in districts and rural farms surrounded by the plains biome. Despite past raids, theft, and griefing, the settlement remains in good upkeep.

Amenities

Fellowship offers the following to all citizens

  • Free 9x9 or smaller plot (within town walls), building materials (most anyway) included with it.
  • Cheap plots of 25x25 or smaller (outside town walls), building materials are not included but can be easily obtained. 1/3 to 1/2 of the land must go to some type of farm to preserve a mideval feel/look.
  • Free Iron Armor and gear for every citizens who needs it.
  • Free Food for any citizens/travelers
  • Portal Access for Citizens only
  • Public farms (Melon, nether wart, wheat, tree, carrot, chickens)
  • Public (Public to Citizens that is) enchantment (full 50 levels worth) room

Laws and Government

A bullentin board lists the rules and laws of the settlement. The other side of the same bullentin board lists news, votes, allies, and other stuff of interest to the town. This bullentin board is in the inner and outer district of Fellowship.

Fellowship is a militaristic oligarchy with democratic influence. That means the town is run by a Defense Council that was appointed by UnknownOreo1996 but citizens vote on major changes, decisions, etc.

List of important policies as of March 17, 2013:

  • Everything must be reinforced, this is not optional. Fellowship is based in an area where small griefings do take place and so we wish to be as prepared as possible for then.
  • Only trusted players may use the portal. Once again, this is another anti-griefing policy to protect the town.
  • Follow the rules on the rule board. This is pretty self-explanatory and the few rules we have are pretty standard where ever you go.

In terms of foregin policy in dealing with other governments, cities and players, stability and peace are the stated goals. For example, protecting the town from griefers and destructive factions like the HCF is one reason for reinforcment of buildings and the walls.

Population

See the census as of March 24, 2012 here

It's about as large as a city, so even at 5 AM EST, one resisdent will be found logged in in or near the settlement. In the middle of a weekday, three players or more players may be found. At night, ten people or more online is common. The population lives in about forty different houses, apartments, and the many embassies may house more players.

City Description

See here for a map of Fellowship. See below link for album of sights.

The setting is medieval, so buildings in Fellowship are usually small; made of wood, (cobble)stone, and glass. There is a large castle that is under construction and a tall tower in the inner district that are much bigger than other places in town. Still, no size and height limit is in place at this time on residents' plots.

The economy within the town is small with only a blacksmith starting up and a general meeting place for exchange. However, traders are welcomed to enter and exchange goods with the residents and a brewing business is also in operation.

Farms range from the public, to the hydro-harvest, to two rural farms between the inner and outer districts. Replanting is required. There is also a cocoa farm in the outer district. So far, Fellowship's citizens grow potatoes, carrots, wheat, cocoa, melons, pumpkins, sugarcanes, trees, cactuses, wolves, sheep, chickens and a few cows. Basically, the town farms everything.

One public mineshaft in Fellowship is descibed as "dangerous" (mobs are possibly inside). A safe mineshaft is available as well. Progress with mining has led some residents to sport iron armor, and has extracted massive amounts of stone for use on walls and buildings.

In addition to walls surrounding the districts, cactuses are used around the outer district for defense. Water surrounds the walls of the outer district as well.
