The HCF Invasion was a server-wide war on Civcraft 1.0 which involved an influx of players from the Hardcore Factions server and lasted from December 20th, 2012 to February 23rd, 2013. The invasion itself began with a vault break by HCF against the vault of the Ancap Foofed, on December 20, 2012- the usage of World Downloader by the HCF to expose a weakness in the vault led to the controversial bans on some involved players. In response to the bans, HCF initiated days of mass pearlings and griefings of cities across Civcraft. The World Police formed to fight the HCF, but their fight was unsuccessful. After accumulating hundreds of pearls, HCF fighters withdrew to 0,0, which they occupied and established a city & concentration camp at Wu Tang. Throughout January of 2013, resistance intensified, in the form of pitched battles against the HCF and griefings of Wu Tang, culminating in the inconclusive resistance raid on 0,0. Ultimately, HCF opened multiple vaults, and WP fighters broke into others, ending with the final break of the HCF world border vault on February 23rd, which ended the war. The invasion was the first major war in the Civ genre, and laid the groundwork for nearly a decade of rivalry between World Police and anti-World Police elements in Civcraft. (Full article...) Current Events Groveheart in the Great Western Bay with new buildings and custom trees. February 22: The ASN launched a "proactive strike" on Alaska dubbed Operation Deadliest Catch; they cited past dealings with Alaskan players and an in-development vault build as a justification for the attack. February 22: A faulty restart on CivMC prevented Citadel from loading which allowed players to enter and break several vaults and exclusion zones unpunished; the server was rolled back and admins would ban those who used this information. February 18: Pavia's prime minister SteelHand7 was legally assassinated by CedarValiant. February 13: A number of players were banned on CivMC for associating with players on the ban list; some were mistakenly banned but were reinstated later. It differs from anarchy servers in that players are given extensive tools to help protect themselves and imprison players.
