=The Eden Group =

The Eden Group, shortened often to simply Eden, was a collection of players who shared several common goals. The group was founded June 26, 2015 and announced the same day by Shadedjon in this post. Openly acknowledging their close ties with the existent World Police power structure, the Eden Group strived to streamline organization and hold their members more accountable than previous iterations of the World Police. The Eden Group claimed to be the "largest security-oriented intergovernmental organization on Civcraft". The group members were bound by the Eden Mandate, and had strict membership requirements as well as penalties for failure to properly uphold the values of Eden. Due to the group's numerous failures, it was disbanded on September 16, 2015.

The Eden Mandate

The governing directive and ideological direction of the group was encased in the Eden Mandate:

to protect the experiment of Civcraft, from both threats internal and external;

promote the exercise of free speech and human rights;

identify free states as such and assist in maintaining their sovereignty;

provide freedom of the press and fair elections;

maintain fairness and justice;

provide early warning, prevent, and rehabilitate server-wide conflicts;

=Reception =

The announcement post received more than 300 comments, ranging from memes, to pointed questions to harsh criticisms. Many members of Nox chimed in to express their qualms, and Chanadian leader Davetron personally expressed his disapproval. However, the tone was majority respectful and calm, with questions being asked for clarity and philosophical reasons. Their ranks more than doubled since the founding of the group, including some players who have been historically anti-World Police (Wojtechpaint, the_hobbyist) or generally neutral (Dsclouse). However, many players began to leave the Eden Group toward the end of it's lifespan.
