Mount Augusta's iteration in CivClassic 2.0 was a large city-state, centered around democracy, legalism, and limited government. After its initial stint near Tierra de Conciencia, the country settled near The Commonwealth and became a populous center of activity near the middle of the map. The city played a major role in the start of the 18-month NATO-Mir War, and had over ten mayors over its lifespan. The city was also an economic and cultural capital of the server; the Maester Alliance and the Order of St. Marcus held its headquarters in the city at Shardore Tower Library, the Augustan Trade Center and nearby Mount Augusta Mall, and organized the Fourth Olympics on the server. The city also had many distinct districts which became its own territories such as South Augusta, Sealand, Insula, and Union of Socialist Augusta. Current Events Pavia's town hall, a large and prolific megabuild constructed this past week. Estalia annexed the Communion of Kū early last week, claiming that the Communion had been ambivalent and unresponsive about the previous tunnel conflict. An international coalition led by Gensokyo agreed to an embargo of all Estalian goods. Icenia and Petrichor have elected their first governments, with Charliseeese becoming Speaker of the Senate in Icenia and MetalHusband elected General Secretary of Petrichor. Mount Augusta has barred citizenship from residents favoring Ahme63, a former governor candidate for maliciously overclaiming and attempting to secede a newly-claimed section of land. While an unprecedented action, mayor ComradeNick has made efforts to prevent adverse effects. NetherPearled, also known as poortea, was pearled by Blockchainistan. Poortea is known for illegally VPN-alting and committing offensive actions on prior servers. Rhode Island players were accused of knowing about poortea's identity and not reporting it and banned, but after investigation these bans were quickly overturned. CivMC admins are looking for new community and project management admins to help with server operations.
