Crafting a Wooden Pickaxe in the 3x3 crafting grid

MeansOfProduction is a plugin on Civ+. It replaces Vanilla Minecraft's 3x3 crafting grid with a 5x5 interface. In addition to the recipes added by vanilla and several cheaper recipes such as cheaper rails you can also use the plugin to craft several custom items, including the Seeing-Trap Dispenser, Speedo, and Bastion.

The plugin acts as Civ+'s replacement to FactoryMod.

Mechanics

You can open the crafting menu by either right clicking a Crafting Table, or by clicking the Crafting Table icon that replaces the 2x2 crafting table in your inventory.

As the plugin replaces many vanilla minecraft crafting mechanics, MeansOfProduction also changes several things about crafting. For example, you can add up to 16 patterns to a Banner, compared to the Vanilla Minecraft limit of 6. Some recipes are also made cheaper or more expensive. Taking advantage of its stacked-ingredient feature, the recipe for a Diamond Sword and Diamond Armor is changed to require 7 diamonds for each item in its shaped recipe. For example, a Diamond Helmet requires 35 diamonds.

ExP & Enchanting

Recipe to enchant an item using relics

The plugin also links to EXPloration in order to add a method to farm ExP and enchant items. You can craft Emeralds using Relics and Crops, and then you can use the Emeralds to enchant items with the Relics of your choice instead of an Anvil. Unlike Anvils in Vanilla Minecraft, you can apply any enchantment with any item. For example, you could craft a Sharpness 5 Knockback 2 Sign.

Custom Items

MeansOfProduction can be used to craft several custom items, such as an Unbreakable Flint and Steel called the .

List of Recipes

The full and up-to-date list of recipes can be found in-game by opening the crafting menu and clicking the Recipe Book icon. However, some notable recipes are listed here.

Trivia

  • MeansOfPRoductions was inspired by the Hypixel Skyblock crafting menu, which allowed for stacked item crafting in a 3x3 interface.
  • Because of a long standing bug, shift-click crafting animates crafting the item one-at-a-time.[1]
